Globix Delays Chapter 11 Filing
NEW YORK Reuters reports that battered Web hosting company Globix Corp. said on Thursday that it has agreed to delay the filing date of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition until next week, at the request of an informal committee of its noteholders.
Globix, which had been expected to start bankruptcy proceedings this week, said the delay will enable discussions to continue over the company's principal office in London.
The informal committee of noteholders and the landlord of Globix House, the principal office, are in talks over modifying Globix's long-term lease and surrendering a ``significant'' portion of the premises, the company said.
The company, which has already received acceptance of its reorganization plan from its creditors and preferred stock holders, said it still expects to emerge from bankruptcy by the end of March.
The reorganization plan should not be affected by the ''short'' delay, Globix said.
