TI Automotive Receives Nissan Quality Award

GREENVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 21 -- Nissan North America Inc. has presented TI Automotive with its Quality Master Award for supplier excellence.

The honor recognizes Nissan's very best suppliers -- those who contribute to the attainment of the company's goal to build the highest quality vehicles sold in North America. TI's Greenville plant provides brake and fuel lines to Nissan's Smyrna (Tennessee) manufacturing facility.

Christopher E. Savage, director of Nissan's trim and chassis engineering, said, ``This award is a credit to a supplier's operations and employees. We appreciate TI Automotive's outstanding work and ongoing commitment to our business.''

According to Nissan, the TI plant scored in the top percentile, based on evaluations of supplier systems, incoming quality, response time, cost- reduction capability, design support, timely shipments, product performance and complexity, warranty and Nissan's own vehicle evaluation system.

Jim Davis, president of TI's North American operations, noted that the award ``symbolizes our dedication to zero-defects. We have worked hard to achieve this goal and to have it recognized by Nissan is very gratifying.''

Nissan recently awarded to TI a contract for complete fuel tank systems for the 2005 Xterra SUV and the Frontier pickup. In 2001, Nissan selected TI for brake and fuel lines on the 2004-model Quest minivan, a full size pickup and an SUV. TI also will supply brake lines for the 2004-model Maxima sedan.

TI Automotive is the world leader in fluid storage, transfer and delivery systems including brake, fuel and air conditioning applications. Based in Warren, MI, the company employs over 21,000 people at more than 100 facilities in 26 countries.
