FORD MOTOR COMPANY BACKS THE BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW

BRENTWOOD, February, 2002 - Ford Motor Company Limited, the biggest exhibitor at this year's British International Motor Show, has given its unqualified backing to the Birmingham event.

Ford, alongside the company's Premier Automotive Group brands; Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo together with Mazda will have impressive stands at the event which is expected to attract more than half a million visitors when it opens its doors in October.

Ian McAllister CBE, chairman and managing director, Ford Motor Company Limited said: "We are absolutely committed to this year's show. The record car market in Britain last year shows that people have never been more interested in buying new cars and the scale and breadth of the latest models on display always makes Birmingham an exciting show."

Dr Wolfgang Reitzle, Ford Motor Company group vice president and chairman and chief executive officer of the Premier Automotive Group said: "This is a major international show and the Premier Automotive Group will have a full range of models on display. It is also the home show for Aston Martin, Jaguar and Land Rover. Their headquarters, research and development centres and most of their production facilities are literally down the road from the NEC."

Ford will be showing the New Fiesta and Fusion models alongside the hugely successful Focus together with the high performance ST170 and RS versions. The Ford stand will also include the latest ST220 Mondeo, Ka, the dramatic WRC Focus RS rally car and many other models.

The full line-up of Premier Automotive Group products on display will include the new Range Rover, new Jaguar S-TYPE range plus the 2-litre X-TYPE and the Aston Martin Vanquish V-12 and DB7.

Volvo's exciting new four wheel drive XC90 will also be on show while the Mazda stand will feature the all new Mazda6, the first time the car will have been seen by the UK public.

This year's event will be the 12th British Motor Show that Ford has attended since the international event moved to the NEC in Birmingham in 1978
