LOCAL CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE GET CORPORATE BOXES AT IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY

LOCAL AREA CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE WILL
EACH HAVE CORPORATE BOX SEATS AT SPEEDWAY

Irwindale, Calif. (February 15, 2002) - - Each of some 20-plus Local San Gabriel Valley Chambers of Commerce will soon have its own pair of Corporate Box Seats at Irwindale Speedway for the entire 2002 season. Just in time for the 34-event racing season at the hot half-mile NASCAR speedway, each Chamber will receive two tickets in this newly-designated exclusive section of seats to use as they see fit for every Saturday night race on the new schedule.

"Irwindale has always been a great combination of family entertainment and a place where business people can bring clients to enjoy an exciting evening of close-up racing action," said Judy Ray, the facility's newly-appointed Director of Corporate Sales. "With this program we feel that we're creating a special place for the business community to gather and to treat their best customers to a great show."

"We're very pleased with the response we've received from the Chambers," Ray remarked. "They feel that they're sending their city's representative to each event here … It's going to be something of an honor each week to be selected as the member who gets the use of that Chamber's box for the night."

Irwindale's own Chamber Executive Director, Sonnie Faires , is very enthusiastic about the program. "This gives each Chamber a chance to be represented at a big public event each weekend, the Speedway is in Irwindale, but its reputation as one of the finest facilities of its kind anywhere in the country makes it something that all of the Southland shares in and is very proud of."

Opening Night, March 16, 2002 marks the beginning of Irwindale Speedway's fourth year of operation. Dedicated to all fans of racing everywhere, the Speedway begins another great season of spectacular racing on its widely-acclaimed half-mile banked oval.

NASCAR competition is the theme and a 100 lap race for Irwindale's top weekly racing division heads up the night's list of racing attractions. The Jani-King Super Late Models are just as their name promises, late model stock cars: Chevy Monte Carlos, Ford Tauruses, Pontiac Grand Ams, and Dodge Intrepids, equipped with muscle-rippling V-8 engines, and some of the most experienced drivers around. This race marks the beginning of a long tough 18 race points series that will see the 2002 champion crowned at Irwindale in late September.

Also on the card for Opening Night 2002 are the Vista Paint Super Stocks, the American Race Trucks, and the Grand American Modifieds, and each is exciting in its own unique way.

At Irwindale the emphasis is always on providing great family-style entertainment. Action-packed auto racing is the main draw, but the Speedway constantly strives to make the experience something that doesn't require a Ph.D. in motorsports to enjoy.

A live band playing from 4pm to 6pm to greet the early arrivals, face-painting for the "kids", great snackbar food, pre-race driver autograph sessions, audience-participation games for Irwindale gear and tickets to upcoming events, and everyone's favorite racing mascot: "Lug Nut Jr." with his Trick T-Shirt Shots lobbing high into the grandstands, are just a few of the little "extras" that Irwindale family fans keep coming back for.

And, thirty-four nights of some of the best paved short track in the country are lined up right behind opening night at IS. All the best of weekly NASCAR stocks and USAC open wheel racing are on the schedule; as well as welcome visits from exciting touring series' like ASA, Ultra Wheels Super Trucks, and the MSRA Pro4 Modifieds.

Add the open-to-all pits after every race, special shows like Figure 8 Racing, Destruction Derby, Fireworks, and Stunt Players to the above and you've got a great new season of motorsports entertainment at the easy-to-get-to and easy-to-afford Irwindale Speedway. It's no wonder the call it, "LA's Half-Mile Super Speedway".

Its all part of Irwindale Speedway's "BUSINESS PLAN … We'll see YOU here!
