Goodie Goodie, It's Time for `The Hoodies'; Farmers Insurance Joins KKBT-FM, The Beat, in Celebrating the Best in the Hood

LOS ANGELES--Feb. 15, 2002--If you don't know, you better ask somebody. The Hoodie Awards show is the hottest event in Los Angeles next to the Grammys. And this year, Farmers is a nomination sponsor for the Best Church in Los Angeles. Nominations are today only.
This is the second annual Hoodie Awards. Last year's event was held in Las Vegas to a sold-out audience at the Aladdin Hotel Theatre for the Performing Arts. This year's event will be held at the Great Western Forum in Inglewood, CA, on April 6.
The Hoodie Awards is the brainchild of Steve Harvey and KKBT-FM 100.3 The Beat. The awards celebrate the best of various Los Angeles neighbor"hoods." Through the Steve Harvey Morning show, listeners will be encouraged to nominate the best in their "hood" -- best restaurant, best bagel shop, best teacher, best community, best church, etc.
"Farmers is proud to be a nomination sponsor for the Best Church," says Kenneth Adams, public relations manager for Farmers. "Farmers recognizes that the church is the catalyst in most diverse communities for positive programs, empowerment and unity. It is with great honor that we sponsor this nomination category."
After the close of nominations, the voting begins. Listeners and participants should tune into the Steve Harvey Morning Show, weekday mornings from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m., to find out that day's category and the announcement of when the actual voting will begin.
"The Hoodies highlight the great people, businesses and organizations in the urban community (also called the "hood") in Los Angeles," says Adams.
"Many times people in `the hood' are not recognized for the extraordinary efforts they put forth, and this awards show is the chance for the community to say we appreciate you and all that you do. And Farmers believes the Best Church category was the best category to sponsor for nominations."
Join Farmers in the nominations, voting and celebration of the best in the hood.
