John D. Ong Leaves Cooper Industries Board to Become U.S. Ambassador (To Bermuda?)("TLL")

HOUSTON, Feb. 14 Cooper Industries, Inc. today announced that it has reduced the size of its Board of Directors to 11 members. John D. Ong, chairman emeritus, The B.F. Goodrich Company, has stepped down from Cooper's Board of Directors effective immediately, having been appointed and confirmed by the Senate as U.S. Ambassador to Norway.
``On behalf of Cooper's officers, employees and shareholders, I would like to thank John Ong for his 26 years of service on Cooper's Board of Directors,'' said H. John Riley, Jr., chairman, president and chief executive officer. ``John's wisdom and expertise were significant assets while Cooper experienced tremendous growth and transforming changes to its mix of businesses during his tenure.''
