ACDelco Tech Challange Winner Announced

FOR RELEASE: February 14, 2002

Virginia Technician Wins ACDelco Online Sweepstakes

Grand Blanc, Mich. - The beauty of an online sweepstakes is that you can live almost anywhere - even on an island - and still have as good a chance at winning as anyone. Just ask Richard Libertino, who recently won a trip to the 2002 Daytona 500 in the ACDelco TechConnect Technician Challenge Sweepstakes.

Libertino, who has owned and operated R. Libertino Auto Repair Inc. on Chincoteague Island, Va., for 15 years, was the Grand-Prize winner out of 854 total entries.

The Grand Prize includes round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations for two to the Daytona 500 race weekend Feb. 16-17 in Daytona, Fla.; a rental car; tickets to both the NASCAR® Busch® Series race on Saturday and the Winston Cup® Series race on Sunday; and $600 in expense money.

Thirty runners-up in the sweepstakes received the Second Prize of 100 ACDelco Rewards Points, which can be used for purchases at more than 50,000 retail locations, select restaurants and at major travel suppliers.

The sweepstakes, which ran from May to October 2001, was open to technicians from Independent Service Centers (ISCs) across the U.S. Entrants were required to take an online test to become eligible for the sweepstakes prizes.

Each month, five quiz questions were listed on the ACDelco Web site, some dealing with ACDelco products and systems, some on ACDelco's "All Makes/All Models" coverage and some on the benefits of ACDelco's Total Service Support (TSS) program.

Libertino admitted that he didn't think he would win the Grand Prize and was just hoping to have a shot at the ACDelco Rewards Points.

"It just shocked me when I found out I had won," said Libertino. "I mean, what were my chances?"
