Jacobs' Subsidiary Announces Contract Renewals at Two Ford Automotive Operations Sites

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich.--Feb. 14, 2002--Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced today that a subsidiary company received contract funding renewals from Ford Motor Company at two automotive operations sites in the greater Detroit, Mich., area.
    Officials did not disclose the contract value.
    The first renewal is for the Driveability Test Facility (DTF) operating site in Allen Park, Mich. Jacobs' responsibilities include complete test asset management, operations, and maintenance for a test complex providing climatic, altitude, aerodynamic, acoustic, and powertrain test capability to Ford and other vehicle manufacturers. Jacobs provided design, build, and road-to-laboratory correlation for the DTF prior to assuming operational responsibility.
    The second renewal is for the Dearborn Proving Ground (DPG) operating site in Dearborn, Mich. Jacobs' responsibilities include complete test asset management, operations, and maintenance at the DPG's climatic wind tunnels and test rooms.
    In making the announcement, Jacobs Executive Vice President Richard Slater stated, "These test facilities are critical to the development of Ford automobiles. As a relationship-based company, we are excited to have this opportunity to continue growing our partnership with Ford and support them in enhancing test operations and testing technology."
