Workhorse Inks Agreement to Sponsor Campgrounds At Texas Motor Speedway
DALLAS & FORT WORTH, Texas--Feb. 13, 2002--In its continuing mission to be the most consumer-focused chassis manufacturer in the RV industry, Workhorse Custom Chassis will have a multi-year presence at the Texas Motor Speedway. At the core of this relationship is Workhorse's sponsorship of all campgrounds with more than 8,500 campsites, including overflow sites, at the speedway. The speedway, which is located in Fort Worth, has many major race events annually, including a NASCAR Winston Cup race on April 7, 2002. Other important racing events include NASCAR Busch Grand National Series, April 6; NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, June 7; Indy Racing League, June 8; NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Sept. 13; Pennzoil World of Outlaws, April 5, April 6, Sept. 12 and Sept. 14; and Indy Racing League, Sept. 15.
"The Workhorse mission is to provide products that better fit and enhance our customers' lifestyles. Handling, drivability, durability, power and performance are all measures of what customers expect in a motor home," said Richard Fish, vice president of sales and marketing for Workhorse. "It's only makes sense that our company should team up with an organization that features the power, performance and lifestyle excitement of NASCAR racing."
"We are very pleased about this partnership with Workhorse," said speedway general manager Eddie Gossage. "Workhorse has rapidly become the premier name in gas motor home chassis so we are glad to have the Workhorse name associated with our campgrounds."
Workhorse's sponsorship allows it to name the three campgrounds located on property outside the speedway. These three campgrounds have more than 8,500 spaces allocated for unreserved, reserved and VIP camping. As part of the sponsorship, every camper receives a registration packet with Workhorse's literature and racing themed newsletter.
Workhorse also will conduct on-site events throughout the race year that will provide added benefits for RV owners who own a Workhorse chassis. "We make it a point at Workhorse to get close to motor home customers. By sponsoring the campgrounds, we can be a direct part of the experience that people have with their motor homes. We also can talk to thousands of motor home owners directly and learn what they like and dislike. The fact that they're also NASCAR fans makes it even better," said Fish.
The Reserved Workhorse VIP Camping area is located just outside the track across from The Speedway Club. Among the free "perks" are paved, oversized sites, 24-hour security, a prime location near the main grandstand, one free water supply and waste stop per weekend and a free newspaper each morning.
The Reserved Workhorse Camping area is located outside turn three and is close to shower and restroom facilities.
The Unreserved Workhorse Camping area is located outside of turn three. There is a daily tram service to the shower and restroom facilities.
