GP Strategies Appoints Marshall S. Geller to Board of Directors
NEW YORK--Feb. 12, 2002--GP Strategies Corporation today announced the appointment of Marshall S. Geller, 62, to the company's board of directors.Mr. Geller is currently Chairman of the Board, CEO and Founding Partner of Geller & Friend Capital Partners, Inc., a merchant banking firm. He is also Chairman and President of St. Cloud Capital Partners, LLC, a small business investment company. Mr. Geller also served as Vice Chairman of Gruntal & Company, a New York Stock Exchange investment banking firm.
Prior to 1998, Mr. Geller spent 21 years with Bear Stearns & Co., an investment banking firm, as the Senior Managing Director in charge of all areas of Corporate Finance, Public Finance, and Institutional Equities & Debt for Bear Stearns' offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Hong Kong. He was also a director of Shun Loong-Bear Stearns Far East and Sun Hung Kai-Bear Stearns, both leading Chinese investment banking businesses in Japan, Hong Kong and China.
Mr. Geller has served on the boards of numerous public and private companies and many varied charitable organizations. He currently serves on the boards of ValueVision International, Inc., Hexcel Corporation, Concepts Direct, Inc., and Ballantyne of Omaha, Inc. Mr. Geller has also served on the Illinois Task Force on Financial Services, which analyzes and suggests needed changes in the state financial services regulations. Mr. Geller serves on the Dean's Advisory Council for the College of Business & Economics at California State University, Los Angeles and most recently was presented with the university's Distinguished Alumnus Award for the College of Business & Economics.
