Asbury (91 Dealerships) Names Robert Frank Senior VP - Automotive Operations
STAMFORD, Conn.--Feb. 12, 2002--Asbury Automotive Group, Inc., one of the nation's largest automotive retailers, today announced that Robert D. Frank, Jr. has joined the company as senior vice president in charge of automotive operations.Mr. Frank, 53, is a veteran with more than 30 years in the automotive industry, mostly with DaimlerChrysler Corporation.
In the newly created position of senior vice president, automotive operations, Mr. Frank will have corporate level responsibility for operations at Asbury's 91 auto dealerships and nine regional "platforms" across the U.S.

Most recently, Mr. Frank served as a DaimlerChrysler vice president for all of Chrysler in marketing and sales throughout the Asia/Pacific region. Previously, he was president & CEO in charge of DaimlerChrysler operations in Venezuela. Mr. Frank initially joined Chrysler in 1968 and advanced through a series of sales and sales management positions, culminating as vice president of marketing for the company's Canadian operations.
Between 1993 and 1997, Mr. Frank was chief operating officer of Larry Miller Group, a privately held conglomerate based in Salt Lake City. With annual revenues approaching $1 billion, Larry Miller's business interests include auto dealerships (24 across the western U.S.) and a rental car franchise, as well as professional basketball (the Utah Jazz and Delta Center).
Mr. Frank received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Missouri in St. Louis, Missouri.
