Carbon-X Fuel Cell To Be Featured At Alternative Fuels Conference In Stuttgart, Germany
Sacramento, California, Whistler Inc. today announced that the principal developer of the Carbon-X proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell, Mr. Rex Hodge, is scheduled to deliver a presentation at the 2002 Global Alternative Fuels Forum in Stuttgart, Germany, on Tuesday February 12th.
In his presentation, Mr. Hodge will provide insight into the fuel cell sector, with respect to transportation. In particular, Mr. Hodge will discuss the impact of the changing automotive market, and the specific criteria required for successful implementation of fuel cell technology in vehicles.
``This conference is an important opportunity for industry participants to share our visions and debate differing perspectives,'' said Mr. Hodge. ``It is critical for vehicle and fuel cell manufacturers to develop effective strategies to maintain market share and prepare for mass-production. In developing our own PEM fuel cell, the Carbon-X, we specifically designed it to with competitive, high-volume manufacturing techniques in mind. I am honored to have been invited to speak at this event, and I look forward to sharing my thoughts.''
Mr. Hodge will deliver his presentation in conjunction with Anuvu Incorporated - a leading developer of fuel cell vehicle systems that is spinning off to Voltairis Fuel Cell the intellectual property relating to the Carbon-X technology. In turn, Whistler Inc. has entered into an agreement with Anuvu to acquire 100 percent of the shares of Voltairis.
The zero emission Carbon-X fuel cell has completed its second generation of development, and is now ready for commercialization.
Global Alternative Fuels Forum 2002 The Global Alternative Fuels Forum is sponsored by The Energy Exchange Limited, and addresses the potential economic and fuel security benefits which can be gained from the use of alternative fuels. The conference aims to increase awareness of the fuel cell sector as it pertains to transportation, and discuss new innovative fuel technologies for the commercial and private sectors. Other scheduled speakers include Xcellsis GMBH , Daimler Chrysler AG , Ford Think , Renault SA (Frankfurt: RENA.F), PSA Peugeot-Citroen (Frankfurt: PEUP.F), Fiat Research Centre , Shell International Petroleum Company and the World Fuel Cell Council.
