SMF Blood Centers: Giving -- Because it is the right thing to do

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--Feb. 8, 2002--The events of September 11th caused Blake Snider, Vice President at Suburban Ford in Sacramento, to ponder what he and his employees could do to help in the community. "On September 11th, blood was shipped from Sacramento to New York -- our blood center was first in the nation to help. We immediately knew we wanted to help SMF Blood Centers."
Suburban Ford, working with SMF Blood Centers and Access American promotions, came up with a bold idea -- wrap a Blood Center bloodmobile in red, white and blue, with messages about donating blood. The wrap, which transforms the 40-foot blood bank on wheels to a moving billboard, will be on-site at Suburban Ford located at 4625 Madison Avenue in Sacramento on Valentine's Day, February 14th, from noon to 5 pm for the public to view.
The Suburban Ford team wanted to continue to help the Blood Center by raising money for a new bloodmobile. "The staff at the Blood Center told us they need more bloodmobiles. We are determined to help not only by creating awareness with the wrap on their existing bloodmobile, but we want to help them raise funds for another vehicle."
Suburban will donate $100 from every vehicle sold on Valentine's Day to SMF Blood Centers. New bloodmobiles are needed to help the Blood Center make donation convenient for donors, to better meet emergency needs and to mobilize in times of disaster.
