BorgWarner Names Manganello President and COO, Dickens VP HR

CHICAGO, Feb. 8 The Board of Directors of BorgWarner Inc. has elected Timothy M. Manganello to the position of president and chief operating officer, effective immediately. This position was last held in 1994 by John F. Fiedler, the company's chairman and chief executive officer. In his new position, Mr. Manganello will have responsibility for BorgWarner's operating groups. He was also appointed to the company's board of directors.

In addition, the board elected Kimberly Dickens as vice president of human resources, effective March 1, 2002. She will succeed Geraldine Kinsella who is retiring after 32 years with the company.

Mr. Manganello, 52, has been with the company for 13 years. He most recently served as an executive vice president of the company and president and general manager of BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems. Prior to that he served the group as vice president of operations for the Muncie, Indiana facility and as vice president of business development. He joined the company in 1989 as vice president of marketing and sales for BorgWarner Morse TEC.

Mr. Manganello holds bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and is a graduate of the Chrysler Institute program.

Ms. Dickens, 40, has been with the company since 1988, most recently serving as vice president of human resources for BorgWarner Transmission Systems. Prior to that she was manager of human resources for the group's facilities in Bellwood and Frankfort, Illinois, and also served in human resources with BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems.

She holds a bachelor's degree in industrial health and safety from Oakland College (Michigan) and a master's degree in business administration from Lewis University (Chicago, Illinois).
