NavisWorks Becomes Independent Company

    SHEFFIELD, England--Feb. 6, 2002--LightWork Design, the world's leading supplier of quality advanced computer graphics software for rendering, simulation and verification solutions, today announced the spin-off of its NavisWorks Division into a separate and independent company, NavisWorks Ltd.
    As an independent company, NavisWorks will be completely focused on developing the market for communication, visualization and navigation of 3D designs in the architectural, engineering and construction industries. The company expects to significantly expand its access to customers during 2002 and beyond, working with its reseller channel and software developer partners.
    LightWork Design will continue to develop and grow its world-leading component technology businesses; LightWorks for high quality visualization and MachineWorks for solids-based NC simulation and verification.
    Peter Thompson, previously General Manager of the NavisWorks Division within LightWork Design, has been appointed Managing Director of NavisWorks Ltd. Commenting on the demerger, Peter Thompson said, "This is a very exciting time for the NavisWorks business. We have already established a strong user base who have realised significant productivity gains and cost savings by using NavisWorks as an integral part of the design and project management process. As an independent company we can be even more focused on our market and satisfying customer requirements."

Dr Oliver will take on the on the role of Non-Executive Chairman of NavisWorks Ltd.
