Nissan Enjoys Status as Official Truck of 2002 EA Sports Supercross Series

GARDENA, Calif., Feb. 1 -- Four races into the 2002 EA SPORTS Supercross Series, Nissan North America, Inc. is enjoying its status with the Nissan Frontier compact pick-up truck the Official Truck of Supercross. EA Sports Supercross is regarded as one of the world's premier off-road motorcycle series.

The 2002 EA Sports Supercross Series schedule includes 16 events nationwide, concluding May 4 in Las Vegas, Nev.

``As a long-time leader in the compact truck market with a rich heritage of off-road performance, Nissan's sponsorship of the EA SPORTS Supercross Series is a perfect fit for our brand,'' said Fred Suckow, model line manager, Nissan Trucks. ``This association will allow us to directly reach an enthused audience that is pre-disposed to owning trucks for both their daily commute and recreational usage.''

Nissan knows this audience well. The company's Frontier compact truck and Xterra and Pathfinder SUVs are popular leaders in their respective categories. And there's more on the way, as Nissan prepares to expand its successful truck line-up with the addition of its first-ever full size, V8-equipped pick-up truck in 2003.

``While our current truck line-up will be the focal point of our Supercross efforts, we also see tremendous opportunities to begin setting the stage and building anticipation for our full-size truck in 2003,'' said Suckow.
