Airstream to Unveil SkyDeck(TM) Motorhome

JACKSON CENTER, Ohio, Jan. 30 -- SkyDeck(TM) Industries, Inc. today announced that Airstream plans to unveil a Class A diesel-pusher motorhome featuring the patented SkyDeck rooftop patio.

Airstream, an Ohio manufacturer of distinctive travel trailers and motorhomes and a division of Thor Industries, Inc., plans to introduce the 39-foot coach in June at one of the nation's largest RV rallies. The luxury coach will feature a 37-foot SkyDeck patio on top of the motorhome, complete with a wet bar, barbeque grill and cushioned seating for 8-12 people.

The deck, which is accessible via residential stairs from inside the motorhome, is targeted to RVers who enjoy entertaining, tailgating, racing events such as NASCAR and other outdoor activities. The SkyDeck patio adds less than three inches of height to a standard coach, allowing Airstream's motorhomes to retain a low profile.

``Motorhome enthusiasts continue to look for ways to enjoy the RV lifestyle and to distinguish their coaches from their neighbors','' said Larry Huttle, president of Airstream. ``We feel the SkyDeck will address both of these consumer demands by dramatically expanding entertainment options while offering RVers and their guests a unique 'view from the top.'

``Our sister company, Thor America, has already received strong orders for its new fifth-wheel and travel trailers that incorporate this innovative rooftop entertaining option. We are pleased to partner with SkyDeck to introduce the industry's first motorhome using its patented technology.''

The Airstream SkyDeck, which is expected to retail for approximately $235,000, can be ordered immediately. The coach will debut at the Great American Rally in Pomona, Calif., June 28-July 1. The Airstream SkyDeck joins the Airstream line of motorhomes, including Land Yacht and Safari.

The Airstream SkyDeck will be available in several floor plans for the 2003 model year. Features include:

A rooftop deck, complete with cushioned seating, automatic-raising safety rails, a king-sized sun lounger, a built-in propane barbeque console, a built- in wet bar and yacht umbrellas.

Two slideouts in the lower level of the coach for additional living space.

Upscale touches on the coach's interior, including Corian® countertops, tile floors and a fireplace.

Other options include a HiLo Stow(TM) dining-coffee table, outdoor speakers, carpeting, storage bins, outdoor lighting and electrical outlet panel.

``We are pleased that Airstream has decided to use SkyDeck technology to create distinctive travel options for RV enthusiasts,'' said Jim Teeter, president of SkyDeck. ``We feel that our unique rooftop patio will be the next must-have innovation for RVers -- much in the way the slideout was in the 1990s. The SkyDeck is perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee, an evening sunset, lunch with friends or just about any other recreational activity you can think of.

``Whether you are at a campground or further away from the crowds, our unique approach to RVing ensures you have the best seat in the house. The Airstream SkyDeck offers wonderful views and additional privacy in any setting.''

SkyDeck motorhomes, fifth wheels and travel trailers will be available at dealers nationwide. Additional information on becoming a SkyDeck dealer, or ordering a custom vehicle, is available by contacting Jim Teeter at 909-213-2135.
