James N. Mills Retires From International Wire Group Board

    ST. LOUIS--Feb. 6, 2002--International Wire Group, Inc. ("Company") today announced that James N. Mills has retired as chairman of the Company's board of directors. Mills had retired from his post as International Wire's chief executive officer in July 2001. Replacing Mills will be Charles W. Tate, an International Wire board member and president of Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst Incorporated.
    International Wire Group, Inc., headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri is a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of wire products, including bare and tin-plated copper wire and insulated copper wire.
