PREMIER1 GRAND PRIX KICKS OFF PARTNERSHIP WITH PARTICIPATING FOOTBALL
CLUBS

Zurich, 06 February 2002: Many of the world’s top soccer clubs that will
be playing starring roles in next year’s Premier1 Grand Prix race series
were represented at a major marketing meeting held in Zurich last week.
The two-day forum featured a far-reaching agenda covering all of the key
elements behind the innovative new motor sport series that, as from March
2003, will see Formula 1 style racers representing renowned football clubs
in thrilling wheel-to-wheel competition.

As well as discussing the overall strategies and recent developments of
Premier1 Grand Prix, those present in Switzerland also made significant
progress on other key contractual commercial issues such as sponsorship,
licensing, joint-promotions, ticket marketing and communication
activities.

"We had a series of extremely constructive and open discussions with the
leading marketing experts behind some of the most valuable brands in
international club football," explains Christian Scholbrock, Director of
Marketing at Premier1 Grand Prix. “To establish the commercial use of the
football club and Premier1 brands, we will set up a formal Premier1
Marketing Steering Committee as well as appoint a ‘Master Licensee’ to
handle what will be a massive world-wide licensing and merchandising
programme.”

Those present for the two days in Zurich included senior representatives
from the football clubs that have already signed official agreements with
Premier1 Grand Prix – such as RSC Anderlecht, Benfica Lisbon, Feyenoord
Rotterdam and Leeds United – as well as a number of officials from French
and English football clubs whose contract negotiations are close to
confirmation.

“It is clear Premier1 Grand Prix has a very professional approach to the
marketing and development of this exciting new race series and it’s
amazing to see just how much of the ground work already has been
completed,” said Chris Woerts, Marketing Manager of Feyenoord Rotterdam.
“It is fair to say that the preparations are far further down the road
than we imagined. Our fans are eagerly anticipating the moment when the
series kicks-off next March.”

Olivier Bernardeau, Commercial Director of Olympique Lyonnais, remarked:
“There clearly is good cooperation between all parties involved. There’s
no doubt Premier1 Grand Prix has enormous potential and, with the football
clubs all working closely together, we can make our participation in this
highly promising championship a great success.”
