Catalytic Solutions Inc. Earns General Motors Contract; The World's Largest Automobile Manufacturer Will Begin to Use Catalytic Solutions' Advanced Catalyst Coating Technology

    OXNARD, Calif.--Feb. 6, 2002--Catalytic Solutions Inc. (CSI) announced today it has been selected by General Motors to supply catalysts for a future vehicle program.
    Catalytic Solutions has developed the advanced catalytic coating technology, Mixed Phase Catalyst (MPC(TM)), which meets increasingly stringent emission standards while enabling dramatic cost reductions by utilizing 50-80% less precious metals than conventional catalytic coating technology.
    "Securing business with General Motors is a major milestone in the growth of CSI," said Bill Anderson, CEO, Catalytic Solutions Inc. "It serves as another validation of the ability of our unique technology to provide value to our customers by meeting the strict emission standards, while utilizing significantly lower levels of precious metals than the competition." Catalytic Solutions recently announced the closing of a Series `C' financing totaling $29.6 million and is rapidly making the transition from a technology development company to a full service supplier of catalysts to the automotive industry. Over the next eighteen months CSI will be commissioning additional state-of-the-art mass production, analytical, and quality systems in its manufacturing facilities to meet the future requirements of GM and other customers.
