WORLD OF OUTLAWS AT LEBANON VALLEY MAY 27
TICKETS ON SALE FEBRUARY 18

FEBRUARY 5, 2002
WEST LEBANON, NY-Each year the sprint cars become quicker and the excitement
boils over when the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Presented by CARQUEST Auto
Parts make their annual stop to one of the fastest facilities on their
schedule, the Lebanon Valley Speedway. Track records seem to fall each time
these winged wonders race on the half-mile high banked speedplant. This year
should be no different with one of the best fields of drivers expected to
follow the series this year.
Tickets will go on sale Monday February 18th for the World of Outlaws
annual stop at Lebanon Valley Speedway on Monday May 27th. All seats are
reserved and cost just $22 each, still the lowest priced event on the entire
World of Outlaw schedule. You can order your tickets by mailing a check or
money order to OUTLAWS Box 9, West Lebanon, NY 12195. You can also charge
tickets to your Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card by calling the speedway
office at (518) 794-9606 or (518) 794-9965. The speedway office hours are
Monday through Friday from 9am till 4pm. Tickets will also be available at
RACEARAMA 2002 in Springfield, MA March 1, 2 & 3. You can pick up a copy of
the 2002 Lebanon Valley schedule at that time.
Last year Joey Saldana blasted the track record in the time trials with a
lap time of 16.550 seconds. The Lebanon Valley High Banks are a favorite for
the W.O.O. Speedsters; the banking and long straight-aways combined with the
huge wings allow the sprinters to run almost the whole speedway without
lifting their foot off the throttle. The World of Outlaws Sprint Cars reaches
speeds in excess of 160 mph on the Super Dirt Speedway.
Donny Schatz had an incredible evening last year at the Valley. Schatz
won his O'Reilly heat race, the Channellock dash, and took last years 25 lap
A-Main feature. Schatz led Daryn Pittman, fast qualifier Saldana, and Steve
and Mark Kinser at the finish. 2001 World of Outlaw champion Danny "the Dude"
Lasoski is eager to break into the winners circle at Lebanon. He will once
again lead an all star contingent of drivers to compete on the high banks.
The big block Modifieds will also be on the card for the evenings racing.
The hunt for the speedway's 50th Anniversary Championship will be underway
and the 2001 champion Kenny Tremont will have his hands full holding off the
challenges of the rest of the talented modified drivers. Last year Brett
Hearn captured the modified portion of the Outlaw show aboard his potent
Budweiser 3 car over JR Heffner and Ronnie Johnson. Look for lots of great
side by side action on the 27th.
In the event of rain, the program will be run on the following evening
May 28th. Last year several rain storms hit the speedway grounds but
management endured the weather and completed the show with some of the best
racing ever on the high banks.
