Volkswagen Sales Up 6 Percent in January
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 1 -- Volkswagen of America, Inc. today reported an increase in its January sales versus last year.
In January, Volkswagen sold 21,362 new cars in the U.S., which represents an increase of 6 percent over 2001's mark of 20,144.
The most notable model results were Volkswagen's Passat sales of 6,076, a January record and an increase of 62.5 percent.
Volkswagen remains the best-selling European brand in the U.S.
