Hyundai Jump Starts 2002 With Another Record Sales Month

<p>FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Feb. 1 -- Hyundai Motor America today announced sales of 27,126 vehicles for the month of January, up 22 percent over the previous year. This also establishes the twelfth consecutive month of record sales. ``Last year Hyundai set an all-time sales record for its U.S. operation and our strong January sales indicate that Hyundai's sales momentum is continuing into 2002,'' said Robert Cosmai, vice-president of sales for Hyundai Motor America. ``With the introduction of the all-new 2003 Tiburon this quarter, we expect our strong sales to continue.''<p>``In addition to our complete line of high-quality, high-value Hyundai cars and sport utility vehicles, another factor that continues to bring customers into Hyundai showrooms is The Hyundai Advantage, America's Best Warranty,'' Cosmai said. ``Hyundai buyers are covered by a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, a 5-year/ 100,000-mile anti-perforation warranty and 5-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance protection,'' he added. <pre> Following is the sales breakdown for January 2002:
