Mercedes-Benz USA Reports All-Time Best January Sales
MONTVALE, N.J., Feb. 1 -- Mercedes-Benz USA today reported its highest January volume on record with sales of 15,098 new vehicles, a 19 percent increase over last year.
Volume for the month was led by the C-Class which recorded its best January on record with 4,534 units sold, a 93.3 percent increase over last year. Following in volume, the E-Class and M-Class sold at 3,173 and 3,175 respectively for the month, with E-Class sales surpassing last year's by 9.9 percent.
Several models posted all-time-highs for January, most notably the top-of-the-line CL-Class, which posted sales of 305 units, a 113.3 percent increase over 2001. The CLK family of coupes and cabriolets also posted its best January ever with sales reaching 1,767 in January 2001, a 28.9 percent increase.
Separately, MBUSA recorded its best January on record through its Starmark pre-owned vehicle program with sales of 3,446, an increase of 34.6 percent over last year.
