Honda Introduces New Civic Hybrid at Society of Automotive Engineers -SAE- Detroit Section Meeting
DETROIT--Jan. 25, 2002--What happens when you take the legendary compact Honda Civic sedan and merge it with an all-new engine and Honda's award-winning gas-electric hybrid technology?
You get the Civic Hybrid, due in U.S. showrooms in just a few months.
The new Civic Hybrid is based on the seventh generation Civic, is equipped with the new Honda IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) System and a new 1.3 liter i-DSI (Dual & Sequential Ignition) engine.
Two leaders of global Honda's Research & Development (R & D) team, Mr. Akira Fujimura, Chief Engineer for Honda R & D Co., Ltd in Japan and ``Assistant Large Project Leader'' of 2003 Civic Hybrid development and Mr. Ben Knight, vice president of Honda R & D Americas, Inc. and former member of the White House Committee on Greenhouse Gases will be on hand to discuss the Civic Hybrid and Honda's strategy in developing the car at the SAE Detroit Section dinner meeting on February 26, 2002 at the San Marino Club, 1685 East Big Beaver in Troy.
A social hour, sponsored by Honda, will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation at 7:30 p.m. Reservations are required.
