Enhanced Multi-Lender Financing Tool is Free to Franchised Dealers and Lenders

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 25 Household International , the 124-year old consumer lender, announced today that its auto finance business will launch an enhanced HAFCsuperhwy.com(SM) 2002 with access to more credit sources and other new benefits for dealers in February 2002. HAFCsuperhwy.com(SM) is a Web-based tool that allows franchised auto dealers to submit customer credit applications and in most cases, receive responses within seconds. Household's auto finance group currently has more than 5,000 franchised dealerships processing credit applications via HAFCsuperhwy.com(SM) each month. In February, Household will expand the tool to provide financing for even more car buyers by adding lenders that provide financing outside the nonprime market served by Household. Participating lenders will be able to provide prime rate auto financing and other services through HAFCsuperhwy.com(SM) free of charge. In addition, HAFCsuperhwy.com(SM) will feature financing tools that will help dealers obtain decisions on applications faster, manage deals more efficiently and deliver cars to more customers. New enhanced features include:
