What: Proposition 42 is a measure on the March 5 ballot that would provide more than $1 billion annually without raising taxes to improve freeway congestion, highways, interchanges, mass transit, potholes and storm drains. When: Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002 at 10 a.m. Where: Luminaria's Restaurant, 3500 Ramona Blvd., Monterey Park (Southeast of the 10/710 Interchange) Why: California's transportation infrastructure has been neglected for decades.
