NHRA: Amato inks Bilstein Engine Flush as title sponsor

EXETER, Pa. (Jan. 19) -- Legendary drag racer-turned-team owner Joe
Amato has announced a major sponsorship agreement with Bilstein Engine
Flush that calls for the company to assume primary positioning on his
Top Fuel dragster, driven by reigning NHRA Rookie of the Year Darrell
Russell.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing a new sponsor to the sport,” said Amato.
“The Bilstein folks see the potential we all know is there with the NHRA
and it’s rapidly expanding fan base. We’re very happy. We plan to do
everything we can to gain as much exposure as possible for Bilstein
Engine Flush. The great fans that come to drag races are exactly the
kind of people they want to reach.”

Marty Yacoobian bought the Bilstein Engine Flush division from German
auto parts giant Krupp-Bilstein two years ago.

“I consider it a privilege to be associated with Joe and Donna Amato and
to have them help me with my business,” Yacoobian said. “You can do
things in this sport that are impossible to do in any other form of auto
racing. The close, personal interaction you have with the fans in the
pits and the ability to entertain customer’s right where the action is
happening is unparalleled. Not to mention the fact that I’ve never found
anything that can compare to the excitement of NHRA drag racing on the
race track.

“Joe Amato is a legend in this sport. To align our company with his race
team defies description in my book. Darrell Russell, as we’ve all seen,
is a talented driver and the sort of company spokesperson you hope to
have. This is a win-win deal.”

The Bilstein Engine Flush system circulates a heated, mineral oil-based
solution through a car’s engine that cleans and evacuates every internal
part where oil normally travels. It is available at oil-change
facilities and car dealerships around the U.S. The once-a-year treatment
has been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency.

Amato Racing continues to receive major associate funding from Keystone
Automotive Operations, as well as associate-level sponsorship from
Valvoline, Matco Tools, and American Racing Wheels. Other sponsors
include Fram-Autolite, Superwinch, Liteglow, Edelbrock, Goodyear,
Russell, Moroso, Crane Cams, and Mr. Gasket Co.
