Premier1 Grand Prix sets out plans for 2002

Zurich, 16 January 2002: The past year has been a busy one for Premier1
Grand Prix, the innovative new motor sport series that will pitch the
world’s top soccer clubs into Formula 1 style racetrack competition in
2003.

Some of the 2001 highlights have included: the signing of a number of top
football clubs, amongst them Benfica, Leeds, Anderlecht and Feyenoord; the
FIA’s (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) approval of the sporting
and technical regulations for the series; a chassis deal with Reynard
Motorsport - one of the world’s leading manufacturers - and confirmation
that the series will kick off in March 2003.

In response to a Question and Answer session at this year’s prestigious
Autosport International Show in Birmingham, Robin Webb, Operations
Director for Premier1 Grand Prix, ensured the audience that 2002 would
continue in the same vein.

“We have taken some great strides in the development of this series in the
past year and momentum will continue to build throughout 2002,” says Webb
“We have some of the biggest clubs in football lined up to take part in
this championship and news of their involvement will raise even the most
cynical of eyebrows.”

In early February, Premier 1 Grand Prix is due to host a meeting of all
the top football clubs’ marketing personnel at its headquarters in Zurich.
The meeting will enable the championship to determine the cooperation
between the clubs and Premier1 on important matters such as sponsorship
marketing and the licensing programme. Other areas of discussion will
include communication plans with the fans and the ticket marketing for
Premier1 races.
