'GM Experience Live' Internet Site to Go Live on Jan. 12

Detroit - People from all parts of the world can experience the excitement of the 2002 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), one of the world's largest and most significant auto shows, via the Internet by accessing "GM Experience Live" on the General Motors corporate Web site, www.gm.com.

The site, which goes live on Jan. 12, makes it possible to see all of GM's concept, vintage concept, specialty, and award-winning production vehicles that are on display at Cobo Center in Detroit, at any time and from anywhere. In addition, the site provides a useful tool for people who plan to attend the NAIAS in person to use to become familiar with the GM exhibit prior to touring the show, or to enjoy the show again after their visit.

"GM Experience Live" at www.gm.com duplicates online the physical layout and content of GM's 150,000-square-foot display. Visitors can see "360-degree" views of GM's new concept and production vehicles, as well as video-taped interviews with GM executives and vehicle designers. They can also link to other GM sites and to special features such as Owner Center, a new online service for GM vehicle owners, and "GM Vehicle Advisor," a tool to help consumers choose the GM car or truck that best meets their needs.

"It's a compelling online destination that lets people see the latest GM cars and trucks, learn about their favorite concept vehicles, and gain detailed information about GM's new products and services."

This is the third year that www.gm.com has offered an online tour of GM's display at the NAIAS. Last year's Webcast of the show generated about 500,000 visits.

The 2002 NAIAS opens to the public on Saturday, Jan. 12, and runs through Monday, Jan. 21.
