GM Announces New Online Service for Vehicle Owners

DETROIT (AP) -- Owners of several lines of General Motors Corp. vehicles will be able to access product information and receive e-mail service reminders through a new Internet service, the automaker said Tuesday.

The ``Owner Center'' allows GM owners to receive the e-mail service reminders, plus access information about their vehicles including owner's manuals, maintenance tips and instructional video clips.

The service is now available to owners of all Pontiac models, and Chevrolet Corvette, Suburban, Tahoe and Avalanche owners, but other GM makes and models will be added to the Owner Center later in the first half of this year, the automaker said.

The service will be introduced in Europe, Asia and Latin America later this year.

Chevrolet and Pontiac owners can sign up for the service using the ``owners'' links at www.chevy.com, www.pontiac.com.
