General Motors to Offer XM Radios in 23 Car and Truck '03 Models This Year

GM Expands Option Building on Success in Cadillac DeVilles and Sevilles

Detroit – In one of the fastest technology rollouts ever at General Motors, XM Satellite Radio will be offered on 23 models this fall – from the Chevy Cavalier to the Cadillac Escalade EXT.

In November 2001, GM became the first auto manufacturer in the world to offer XM as a factory-installed option on 2002 Cadillac DeVilles and Sevilles. Beginning this fall, the start of the ’03 model year, the XM option will be available on the following models:

Buick Rendezvous, LeSabre
Cadillac Escalade, Escalade EXT, DeVille, Seville,
Chevrolet Avalanche, Cavalier, Impala, Monte Carlo, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe
GMC Denali, Denali XL, Sierra, Yukon, Yukon XL
OLDS Alero
Pontiac Aztek, Bonneville, Grand Am, Sunfire

“These additional models will maintain GM’s leadership position over other OEM competitors in terms of offering factory-installed XM Satellite Radios,” said Rick Lee, executive director of XM Satellite Radio Services for GM.

“We’re thrilled that General Motors, the nation’s largest automaker, is expanding XM’s service throughout its car and truck line,” said XM President and CEO Hugh Panero. “Consumer response to XM has been fabulous, Fortune Magazine named us ‘Product of the Year,’ and GM is making a powerful statement about the growing demand for our service.”

XM Satellite Radio provides 100 coast-to-coast digital quality channels, offering everything from 1940s genre music to the latest in hip-hop. Consumers can subscribe to the service for $9.99 a month – less than the cost of a single CD. In addition, GM customers with GMAC financing can choose to include the XM subscription in their car payments.
