DETROIT, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. (AAM), which is traded as AXL on the NYSE, is one of five winners of the 2001 Shareholder Value Awards jointly presented by Automotive News and PricewaterhouseCoopers. ``We are extremely pleased to receive this award for our stock performance during 2001,'' said AAM Co-Founder, Chairman & CEO Richard E. The distinguished awards recognize the highest total shareholder return for automotive vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and retail distributors over a one and three year period. Selection of the winners was based on calculation of total shareholder return as determined by the PricewaterhouseCoopers Shareholder Value Indices. The winners will be recognized at a dinner on Tuesday, January 15th at the annual Automotive News World Congress at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dearborn, Michigan. Complete year-end results and the winners will be announced in the January 14th issue of Automotive News and at www.autonews.com .
