Evenflo Canada Announces Recall for Repair of Evenflo Cribs
OAKVILLE, Ontario--Jan. 10, 2002--Evenflo Canada, Inc. of Oakville, Ontario is announcing a recall for repair of about 3,700 Evenflo Jenny Lind cribs that have been sold in Canada. The cribs do not meet one aspect of the current Canadian crib and cradle regulations. No incidents or injuries involving these cribs have been reported in Canada with respect to this issue.These cribs are white painted wood, have turned spindles, and have "Evenflo" printed on them. The model number "012615C" appears on labels on the headboards of the affected cribs. The cribs were sold primarily at Zellers stores from 1997 through 1999. Many cribs are also called "Jenny Lind," but those manufactured by other companies are not targeted by this announcement.
Consumers should call Evenflo Canada (800) 265-0749 between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (EST) weekdays to receive a free repair kit. The repair kit includes replacement hanger brackets, hardware and instructions. If you own one of these affected cribs, it is important that you contact Evenflo Canada to order a repair kit.
