OptiGlobe Appoints Greg Furst as Vice President of North American Sales; Former Digex Executive to Lead Sales Efforts with U.S.-based Multinationals

BETHESDA, Md.--Jan. 10, 2002--OptiGlobe(TM), Latin America's premier provider of mission-critical IT outsourcing and data center services, today announced that Greg Furst has joined the company as vice president of North American sales.
Furst is responsible for targeting multinational corporations based in the United States that can benefit from OptiGlobe's complex managed hosting and colocation services in Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico. Furst also oversees all sales, pre-sales, and account management efforts in the United States.
Furst came to OptiGlobe from InfoCruiser, an Arlington, Virginia-based software company, where he was instrumental in developing and launching the company's product line, signing nine high-profile Beta clients in less than two months, and securing $10.2 million in Series B funding.
Prior to InfoCruiser, Furst spent nearly five years at Digex, most recently as vice president of sales. During his tenure, he grew the sales, sales operations, and sales engineering divisions at Digex from less than ten people to more than 175 professionals. From 1997 until 2000, he led Digex to record sales and revenue growth and was instrumental in Digex's 1999 IPO.
Furst also has held various leadership positions in sales and marketing at Automation Research Systems and Bell Atlantic Yellow Pages. Furst holds an M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. from Bucknell University.
"U.S.-based Fortune 500 companies recognize the tremendous cost reductions, quality improvements, and performance gains they can realize by consolidating the management of their Latin-based infrastructure and network resources in world-class data centers like OptiGlobe's," said Bob Rouse, president and CEO of OptiGlobe. "Greg will help us capitalize on the demand that we are seeing among U.S.-based multinationals for world-class services in Latin America by selling directly to those corporations."
"OptiGlobe has had great success signing marquee multinational accounts, including John Deere and Ford," said Furst. "I look forward to growing the sales team to further build upon that success, as we help provide U.S.-based companies with top-quality service in Latin America."
