Federal-Mogul Appoints Michael P. Gaynor Senior Vice President And Chief Information Officer
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Jan. 8 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Frank Macher announced today the appointment of Michael P. Gaynor, to senior vice president and chief information officer, effective February 11, 2002. In this new position, Gaynor will report to Macher and serve on the senior management team.
Gaynor, 52, will be responsible for directing Federal-Mogul's Information Technology organization, building IT strategies, processes and action plans to support and enable Federal-Mogul's global product line business strategy. Included in this responsibility is the implementation of common applications and consistent business processes, along with the continued rationalization of the company's IT infrastructure to help maximize the value of the company's IT spend. Gaynor will also be responsible for the continued support of the company's shared services and global financial reporting system initiatives.

Prior to this appointment, Gaynor served as chief information officer for Avery Dennison since 1999. In that role, Gaynor was responsible for centralizing IT, bringing about a shared services mentality, consolidating multiple data systems into three major data centers, and implementing a worldwide disaster recovery plan as well as business continuity plans.
Gaynor has 30 years of experience directing the information technology function and partnering with operations management in developing value-added IT solutions. Prior to Avery Dennison, Gaynor was vice president and chief information officer, Worldwide Manufacturing and Quality Systems, for Compaq Computer Corporation, responsible for leading the company's SAP software systems implementation. Before joining Compaq, Gaynor was vice president and chief information office, Worldwide Manufacturing and Distribution, for Digital Equipment Corporation. Previously, he was chief information officer of Aearo Company, where he led the implementation of SAP systems in all of the company's worldwide locations.
Gaynor earned a master of business administration degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey, and a bachelor of science degree from St. Peter's College in Jersey City, New Jersey.
