DETROIT, Jan. 7 -- The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) 2002 is on tap for another huge success. This year's show has more exhibit space, very strong media attendance, hugely successful Industry Preview Days sales and once again, a sold-out Charity Preview. The numbers include:
Exhibit space: 1 million square feet of exhibits-- including 250,000 square feet in second-story displays -- have been booked by more manufacturers than last year.
Media Attendance: Nearly 6,000 media registrations, virtually equal to last year and above the NAIAS target of 5,000
Industry Preview Days: Sales for the two Industry Preview Days (January 9-10) are projected to exceed 20,000, up almost 25 percent over last year
Charity Preview: Charity Preview, which benefit eleven local children's charities, is "Sold Out Again"
In addition, manufacturers have designed and built some of the most dynamic and exciting exhibits ever including more than two dozen new exhibits.
Furthermore, the NAIAS also is hosting more vehicle introductions and attracting more top-level executives from the world's largest automakers than any other show in North America.
