Oshkosh Truck Names Meaders Managing Director Of Geesink Norba Group
OSHKOSH, Wis.--Jan. 7, 2002--Mark Meaders has been named managing director of the Geesink Norba Group, leading European refuse collection vehicle manufacturers and wholly owned by Oshkosh Truck Corporation . In this position, Meaders will oversee all aspects of Geesink Norba's operations and performance. Meaders is also Oshkosh's executive vice president and general manager of European operations.Meaders joined Oshkosh in 1996 as purchasing manager and subsequently held such positions as director of purchasing and vice president of procurement, developing an international purchasing strategy for more than $1 billion in purchased goods annually. Meaders was also actively involved in the integration of each of Oshkosh's major acquisitions since 1996, including that of the Geesink Norba Group, purchased in July 2001.
Most recently, Meaders was responsible for all Oshkosh brand manufacturing, implementing a major plant expansion and renovation to double Oshkosh's military vehicle production capacity. He holds a bachelor's degree from Wichita State University and a master's in business administration from Golden Gate University.
Also appointed to the Geesink Norba management team is Ted Henson, Oshkosh's vice president of international sales. Henson has responsibility for all European sales and marketing operations and will be working with Geesink Norba's 10 branches to serve customers throughout Europe. He is a 10-year veteran of Oshkosh Truck and brings with him significant sales management experience in specialty truck body markets. Most recently, Henson was responsible for international sales and service of Oshkosh defense and airport products, Pierce fire apparatus, and McNeilus brand refuse bodies and concrete mixers. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas - El Paso.
Meaders replaces Gijs Spruit, who left the company effective January 1, 2002. Both Meaders and Henson will be based in Emmeloord, Netherlands.
