Delphi Showcases Communiport(R) Integrated Navigation Radio

TROY, Mich., Jan. 3 -- Delphi Automotive Systems will demonstrate its innovative Communiport® Integrated Navigation Radio in the 2003 Toyota Matrix, an all-new cross-over utility vehicle arriving in February, at the 2002 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week.

Delphi's Communiport Integrated Navigation Radio integrates full-map navigation capabilities with a DVD ROM player and AM/FM radio. The full-map navigation includes a 5.8-inch diagonal full-color display, intersection view for detailed maneuvering guidance, destination selection and voice prompts.

The multiple functions of the system include a radio data system, which features station name display, program type seek/scan, traffic information, automatic frequency switching, radio text messaging, as well as the ability to interface with a remote six-disk CD changer.

``The beauty of the Integrated Navigation Radio with the DVD system is that directions for the entire contiguous 48 states and parts of Canada are on one disk,'' said Jeff Owens, president, Delphi Delco Electronics Systems. ``The convenience of having nationwide information clearly displayed on a first-rate system is key to the ease of use by the driver.''

The easy-to-use Communiport Integrated Navigation Radio puts enhanced entertainment and information at the driver's fingertips. The functions of the Integrated Navigation Radio are housed in one compact unit and its standard 2-DIN size makes it easy to integrate into almost any vehicle's instrument panel.

In order to meet the individual tastes of buyers of the Toyota Matrix, Delphi also provides the choice of an AM/FM stereo radio with CD, AM/FM stereo dual playback with CD/cassette system or an AM/FM stereo radio with in-dash six-disk CD changer.
