Chrysler Group Extends Powertrain Protection Coverage

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 2 -- Chrysler Group today announced the extension of its powertrain protection plan, which provides -- at no charge -- a seven-year/100,000-mile powertrain protection plan on any new 2001 and 2002 Chrysler, Jeep® or Dodge vehicle purchased through March 31, 2002.

``The 'Home for the Holidays' program was an excellent tool to shift consumers' attention from the 'deal' -- rebates and APR special financing -- to the value of our vehicles,'' said Jim Schroer, Executive Vice President - Global Sales and Marketing. ``Since launching 'Home for the Holidays', all of our sales indicators are up: showroom traffic, closing ratios and most importantly, sales.''
