Pro Spec Miata Selects Series Tire Supplier

FONTANA, CA -- Kumho Tire USA has been named as the official tire supplier for the Pro Spec Miata Series. This new series will be sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and is an outgrowth of the Spec Miata class, one of the SCCA's fastest growing classes. More than 200 cars are registered in the Spec Miata series, which also is supported by Mazda Motorsports.

Pro Spec Miata series coordinator Jim Daniels expects to have starting fields of approximately 30 cars for each of the eight races in the inaugural 2002 season. The series will race at such venues as Road Atlanta, Texas World Speedway and the Carolina Motorsports Park.

The Pro Spec Miata cars are essentially showroom stock cars, running with a stock motor and brakes, a spec suspension kit and full safety equipment. All Pro Spec Miatas will race on 15" x 7" wheels shod with 205/50/15 ECSTA V700 tires.
