DaimlerChrysler and Mitsubishi Motors to Build Engine Plant in Kölleda
Stuttgart, 12/21/2001 - DaimlerChrysler AG and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation have announced they will build a joint engine plant in Kölleda in the German state of Thuringia. The plant will produce gasoline engines for small Mitsubishi and smart brand cars. Investment in the new plant will total 244 million euros. Altogether, around 500 people will work at the plant, and more than 500 additional jobs will be created in the region. Construction will commence in February 2002.
