Visteon Turns Up Technology for Consumer Electronics Show

DEARBORN, Mich., Dec. 19 -- Visteon Corporation's latest audio and entertainment systems, human-machine interfaces and personal-security systems are on their way to Las Vegas, Nev., for the Consumer Electronics Show, Jan. 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Visteon integrated these systems into fully functional showcase vehicles that will be displayed at Visteon's outdoor exhibit area, located in the Silver Lot across from the West side of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Some of the audio and entertainment systems that will be showcased include:

MACH® 1000 Audio System with selectable 1000/500-watt output, offers high performance audio with extremely low distortion so listeners can pump up the volume without hearing static. MACH MP3 Jukebox, powered by Phatnoise(TM), holds up to 500 hours of music in a portable device small enough to fit in the palm of a hand, allowing users convenient access to a lot of music whether they're driving in the car or surfing the Internet from their home PC. DVD Rear Seat Entertainment Systems, feature wireless headphones in overhead-screen and projection rear seat versions, providing entertainment options for a wide variety of vehicle types. Satellite Digital Audio Radio System, provides continuous information and entertainment on 100 channels so travelers can enjoy their favorite stations with crystal-clear reception no matter where they are. At the Consumer Electronics Show, Visteon will be demonstrating a Satellite Digital Audio Radio System receiving signals from satellite broadcaster Sirius. Visteon will also showcase Human-Machine Interfaces -- systems designed to make interaction and control of vehicle functions easier for the driver -- such as:

Visteon Voice Technology(TM), empowers drivers with hands-free control of vehicle systems, such as temperature and radio settings, so they can keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel. Bluetooth(TM) Interface Module, combines Visteon Voice Technology with Bluetooth, allowing drivers to control consumer devices, such as cell phones, hands-free so they can stay focused on driving.

Personal-security systems in the display vehicles at CES include: -- Fingerprint Identification System, allows vehicle owners and authorized drivers to access and start the engine with a touch of their finger, reducing the possibility of vehicle theft and providing increased personalized options. -- Passive Entry Systems, enable drivers keyless entry with a credit-card size device that signals the car to unlock the doors, allowing drivers easy access to the vehicle, especially when they've got their hands full.

These technologies were integrated into platform vehicles by Visteon's Innovation Works team, a group committed to integrating technologies of the future for demonstration purposes.
