FOR RELEASE: December 17, 2001Chevrolet Announces Prices for All-New 2002 TrailBlazer EXT Sport Utitlity Vehicle
Seven-adult Seating Room for Cargo = Industry Benchmark
DETROIT - Chevrolet Motor Division today announced Manufacturers Suggested Retail Prices (MSRPs) for its all-new TrailBlazer EXT (extended wheelbase) models, which will be available in Spring 2002.
The MSRPs for the TrailBlazer EXT are $31,385 for the two-wheel-drive model and $33,610 for the four-wheel-drive model. (The MSRPs include a $600 destination charge.)
The standard equipment on all TrailBlazer EXT models, in addition to the standard equipment on all TrailBlazers, includes a third seat, which seats seven adults comfortably with room for cargo; LT trim; second seat climate vents and controls; power rear quarter windows; and 17-inch wheels and tires.
TrailBlazer EXT also has two option packages. The LT Leather Package includes premium leather interior, eight-way power driver and passenger seats, driver information center, automatic climate control, rear seat radio and steering wheel controls for ventilation and audio. The LT Enhancement Package includes the LT Leather Package, plus memory driver's seat, memory outside rear-view mirror, turn signals on the outside rear view mirrors, RainSense wipers and body-color side moldings and door handles.
Individual options for TrailBlazer EXT models include a DVD player for rear-seat passengers, AM/FM radio with six-CD changer, sunroof, running boards, shield package (4x4 model only), Bose premium sound system, heated front seats, traction assist (2WD only) and locking differential.
"The TrailBlazer EXT model provides the amenities plus the space for customers who want a vehicle that carries seven adults comfortably," said Russ Clark, TrailBlazer Brand Manager. "Chevy's third seat can easily accommodate two full-size adults, and still has more than 22 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third seat."
Cargo space is especially accommodating when the second and third row of seats in TrailBlazer EXT are folded flat to provide 100.2 cubic feet of storage space*, more than TrailBlazer's major competitors. TrailBlazer EXT has the advantage because 16 inches have been added to the five-passenger TrailBlazer wheelbase.
*Maximum cargo is measured at top of seat back.
TrailBlazer EXT joins the five-passenger TrailBlazer in providing more passenger room than most competitors in the midsize sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment. TrailBlazer has already become a sales leader in the midsize SUV segment since it was introduced earlier this year.
Standard equipment on all TrailBlazer models is impressive. TrailBlazers are powered by an all-new Vortec 4200, an inline-six cylinder engine, which offers the power of a V8 engine with the fuel efficiency of a six-cylinder engine. It is the most technologically advanced engine in its class, and delivers the most horsepower in its segment at 270 hp with 275 lb-ft of torque. Other standard equipment includes four-wheel antilock disc brakes, programmable automatic power door locks, automatic headlamps, PASSLock theft-deterrent system, rear-door child safety locks, rear-split folding seats, power windows and tilt steering wheel.
