GM Kenya Scoops Quality Award Again

Nairobi, Kenya- For the second consecutive year, General Motors Kenya has won the Kenya Quality Award. This award, sponsored by the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), seeks to recognize companies that demonstrate excellence in quality. Among the criteria elements considered were innovation, leadership in management, environmental practices, customer focus and the application of standards.

"We are proud to have won the award during the two years that it's been granted. The enthusiasm of our customers in Kenya and abroad serves as great motivation to continue improving quality levels in every area of our business." said William Lay, managing director of GM Kenya.

GM Kenya assembles Isuzu trucks at the Nairobi plant. It also distributes and provides service support to the COMESA region. Founded in 1975, GM has a 57.7% majority equity interest and management responsibility in this joint venture company. With a market share of over 80 per cent of motor vehicles exported out of Kenya and over 20 per cent of the domestic commercial vehicle segment in Kenya, GM is the region's largest distributor of motor vehicles.
