SAN DIEGO, Dec. 10 -- Wingcast LLC, a company founded by Ford Motor Company and QUALCOMM to provide telematic services and applications to consumers, today announced that it has signed agreements with Amdocs and Ericsson . Together, the companies will develop a comprehensive billing and mediation solution for Wingcast's forthcoming telematics applications and service delivery system scheduled to launch in model year 2003.

Wingcast will integrate products from Amdocs Horizon customer care and billing platform and Ericsson's Content Management Solution (CMS) product line to create one comprehensive billing system. Combining the technologies from Amdocs and Ericsson will enable Wingcast to provide customized service offerings and flexible usage-based billing packages, as well as content and application services, such as location-based information, designed to meet the needs of all consumer demographics. Wingcast will also be able to tailor specialized service offerings to fleet or trucking companies and accurately bill for these services.

Amdocs Horizon provides Wingcast with the ability to offer highly flexible pricing schemes, charging the consumer by usage and content, and to manage partner arrangements with support for revenue sharing and sponsoring price plans. Amdocs Horizon supports multiple services, customer segments, trading partners and business models on a single platform.
