Celadon Group Changes Name Of Its Canadian Trucking Operation To Celadon Canada, Inc.

INDIANAPOLIS & KITCHENER, Ontario--Celadon Group, Inc. today announced it has changed the name of its Canadian trucking operations to Celadon Canada, Inc. from Gerth Transport Ltd.
The name change was effective October 24 and is being followed up with the rebranding of Gerth Trucks and trailers to carry the Celadon Canada, Inc. logo and colors.
Celadon Group acquired Gerth in 1998 as a key component in completing Celadon's lane strength from Mexico to Canada. Based in Kitchener, Ontario, Gerth is the number one carrier in the Canada-Mexico lane.
"The rebranding achieves our objective of presenting one face and one brand to our customers," said Steve Russell, Celadon Group, Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "It strengthens our profile and the recognition of Celadon as the best international carrier in North America."
Celadon's other U.S. trucking operation, Zipp Express, and Celadon's Mexican trucking unit, Jaguar, are also being rebranded to carry the Celadon logo and colors.
Zipp Express is a full service transportation company that provides contract warehousing, cross-dock and local drayage along with ocean container services and LTL service. Jaguar provides Celadon customers with international door-to-door service within Mexico and between points in Mexico and the U.S. border. "The Canadian, U.S. and Mexican rebranding will result in a common identity for Celadon across the Americas while we retain the distinct character of our individual trucking operations," Mr. Russell said.
Headquartered in Indianapolis, IN., Celadon is one of the ten largest truckload carriers in the U.S. and the largest transporter of truckload freight between the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The company has offices in all three countries, and operates more than 2,600 tractors and 7,000 trailers.
The company is also the majority owner of TruckersB2B, an Internet-based 'business-to-business' membership program that provides discounted fuel, tires, equipment and other products and services to small- and medium-sized trucking companies and private fleets.
