CES to Highlight the Latest Innovations In Mobile Electronics
ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 6 -- The 2002 International CES attendees will be in the fast lane to new mobile electronics technologies when the show returns to the Las Vegas Convention Center on Tuesday, January 8 through Friday, January 11, 2002. The 2002 International CES-Your Source for Workstyle and Lifestyle Technology(SM), will showcase the latest mobile electronics technologies such as GPS, IDB, vehicle navigation, car audio, car security, radar detectors, satellite radio, automotive computing and others.
A host of technology pavilions, exhibitors and conference sessions will address the latest and best mobile technologies in the consumer electronics marketplace.
In the Car Technologies: The Road to Universal Automotive Electronics Connectivity SuperSession, innovators of mobile technology will discuss sales strategies and expanding market reach. This SuperSession will take place on Thursday, January 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the North Hall of the LVCC room N250. Solomon Daniels, editor of Mobile Electronics Magazine, will moderate panel consisting of Arlan Stehney, executive director, IDB Forum; Brad Little, chairman, 1394 Automotive Working Group; Herbert Hetzel, administrator, MOST Cooperation; Neil A. Schilke, president, SAE International and general director of engineering, General Motors Corp.; and Rob Putman, president, Soundgate.
More than 15 sessions in the CES Knowledge Circuit will cover all aspects of automotive technology, including car navigation, vehicle security and on- board entertainment. The Digital Car Showroom Pavilion, located in the LVCC North Hall, will allow attendees to see and test the latest mobile technologies. Visitors to the showroom will learn about new vehicle navigation tools, entertainment systems, safety devices, obstacle warning systems and how wireless technology has converged them all.
The Intelligent Transportation System Data Bus (IDB) defines the industry's first set of interface standards for automotive information, communications and entertainment systems. Located in the North Hall of the LVCC, the IDB Forum will educate attendees on the convergence standard for electronics equipment in the new-generation automotive systems that IDB provides. The IDB Forum will showcase leading automobile manufacturers and key engineers ready to discuss the latest innovations in aftermarket car products.
