REACTOR POWER CELL OFFERS IMPROVED
SAFETY, GREATER STARTING POWER
Marston, N.C. – ThermoDynamic Inc.'s Reactor Power Cell battery is setting the standard for modern racing with an unprecedented design that supports high current capability and a quicker charging cycle than other products. With power capabilities approved by the military for some of its toughest aircraft, the Reactor Power Cell is a winner for racers who demand safety and quality.
The lightweight Reactor Power Cell model 1257 is compact, weighing only 31 pounds, which provides greater flexibility than other batteries in weight distribution management. It produces over 1500 AMPS of peak power within 10 seconds. Virtually leak-proof even if the case is damaged, the Reactor is designed to tolerate extreme temperatures and vibration. These batteries are shake-table tested at up to 10Gs. Because the Reactor has silver-plated, solid brass posts, it contains no exposed lead, unlike standard wet cell batteries. It also resists corrosion of posts or cables because of its totally sealed design.
“Safety is one of the most important issues in racing today, and the Reactor is designed to protect drivers and their equipment, “ said Noel Smith, president of ThermoDynamic. “It is also the only battery in the world that uses lead-free posts and it can't leak, so not only can it be mounted in any position, there are no environmental concerns with this product.”
The battery's high-performance capabilities are a result of its unique technology. Within the battery, plates are very close together, separated by only a micro-fibrous silica glass mat, or AGM, which completely absorbs the electrolyte. This closely packed design lowers the battery's impendence, which gives it its high current delivery and quick current charging power. Standard lead acid batteries are loosely packed and have high plate separation.
In the Reactor, the mat is more than 90 percent saturated with electrolyte while a portion is filled with gas, providing void spaces. Within this space, freshly generated gasses that are in their atomic state and very reactive can recombine rapidly and safely. Because of this action, the Reactor produces less than 2 percent hydrogen gas, even during a severe overcharge. This is much less than the 4.1 percent hydrogen gas required in air for flammability. This recombining also reduces electrolysis and eliminates the need to add water, making the Reactor truly maintenance free.
The Reactor Power Cell offers a long life cycle, which has been shown to be three to five times longer than other batteries. Classified as non-dangerous by the U.S. Department of Transportation, this product is not restricted by air or any other means of
transportation. It is shipped fully charged and is not required to display a corrosive label on the shipping carton.
