Air Lift Introduces New Sport Suspension System
AIR LIFT INTRODUCES EASY STREET PNEUMATIC SPORT SUSPENSION SYSTEM FOR ONE-TON CHEVROLET & GMC DUALLY PICKUPS LANSING, MI – Air Lift Company, manufacturer of the world's fastest pneumatic suspension systems, has debuted an Easy Street® pneumatic sport suspension system designed to lower 1992-98 model-year Chevrolet and GMC one-ton dually pickups. The new kit is based on a parallel four-link design, with a 9-inch diameter rolling-lobe air spring mounted behind the axle for a great ride without compromising load-bearing capacity, according to Bill Dermond, Easy Street program manager. The four-link is two parallel bars, one above the other, which travel from a front bracket (which replaces the OEM leaf spring bracket) to an upper bracket and bracket/pedestal at the rear axle, Dermond said. A nine-inch diameter sleeve bag is mounted to the pedestal portion of the lower bracket, which is located under and behind the axle. The trailing arms (4-links) and Panhard Rod are constructed of heavy-wall 1-7/8” tubing. The system also employs OEM rubber bushings at all pivot points. A C-notch is integrated into the upper air-spring mount. For the front, the air spring replaces the stock coil spring, he added. With a dropped spindle, the Easy Street system lowers the vehicle 6 inches in the front and 9 inches in the rear when the air bags are fully deflated. At “normal” ride height, the vehicle is dropped 4 inches in front and 6 inches in the rear.
